Center Greenhouse

Frank and Brian Yantorno

Frank Yantorno and his sons, Brian and Kenny, are 4th and 5th generation owners of the present-day Center Greenhouse, Inc. in Denver, Colorado. It all began in 1882, when Pietro and Pasquelena Yantorno (great-grandparents of Frank) came to the U.S. from Calabria, Italy.

When Pietro’s son August took over, he ran a truck farm until 1950, at which time August and his sons – Pete, Frank Sr. and Carl – started building greenhouses to grow carnations. By 1973, Frank and his cousin, Paul, began yet another conversion to bedding plants.

Since then, the family business has evolved into a state-of-the-art growing facility for bedding plants. Annuals, perennials, herbs, ornamental grasses and designer hanging baskets known as Power Flowers are sold in the Colorado and Southern Wyoming markets.
